The Resort Players of Mount Washington Valley are presenting Neil Simon’s 1992 Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning play "Lost in Yonkers" at 8 p.m. Directed by Mary Bastoni-Rebmann, "Lost in Yonkers" is a touching, bittersweet, and often comedic story of an eccentric New York family in crisis in the summer of 1942. 31st Annual Taste Of New Hampshire. Mount Washington Resort is hosting the American Culinary Federation’s 31st annual Taste of New Hampshire Food Festival on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the The Conservatory at The Mount Washington Hotel. The gourmet delights will entice every palate during this annual fundraiser. Organized by the American Culinary Federation, this fundraiser benefits the Chef and the Child American Culinary Federation’s program. Adult Nature Course. Tin Mountain Conservation Center’s is presenting the adult nature course entitled “New Hampshire Coastal Ecology: Rocky Shores.” The course will be taught by Tin Mountain Conservation Center trustee and Drew University, Professor Emeritus of Biology, Dr. Lee Pollock from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Tin Mountain Nature Learning Center. The course continues tomorrow from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. with a field trip to the coast at Odiorne State Park, the largest undeveloped stretch of shore on New Hampshire's eighteen mile coast. Dinner At The Movies Night. Cub Scout Pack 234, of Ossipee, is hosting Dinner at the Movies night at the Ossipee Central School, across from the town hall. The movie is "The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie." Dinner will include home-style "ol' fashioned" macaroni and cheese, SpongeBob style macaroni and cheese, tossed salad, garlic sticks, a special surprise SpongeBob desserts, assorted soda, water, Kool-Aid and coffee. Dinner is at 5:30 p.m. and the movie, projected onto a large 12 by 6 and a half foot movie screen, is at 6 p.m. The cost is $6 per person and $20 per family of four or more. Spring Fling Craft Fair. Join the American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 18, of Wolfeboro by attending their annual Spring Fling Craft Fair. It will be held at the American Legion Hall located at 142 Center Street in Wolfeboro from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This is an indoor event with a friendly atmosphere. Special features include a large variety of hand-made crafts, and the ever popular raffle table. Breakfast and lunch will be offered at the snack bar for reasonable prices. Bake Sale. Friends Helping Friends is having a bake sale as part of Share Our Strength Great American Bake Sale, a national campaign that mobilizes Americans to end childhood hunger by holding bake sales in their communities. 'You And Your Pet' Health Fair. A free health fair called “You and Your Pet - A Healthy Bond” is at the North Conway Community Centerfree from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The fair, which will benefit the Conway Area Humane Society, is open to the public and pets and will include booths set up by various local health organizations and providers. Touch The Truck Day. The Bartlett Recreation Department is hosting the second annual touch the truck day at the Josiah Bartlett Elementary School at 10 a.m. Touch the truck day is when the recreation department arranges for local children to get a closer look at the equipment, such as fire trucks, highway department trucks, ambulances, back hoes or tractors, that they see out and about in the community. The Bartlett Preschool will be on hand to fire up the grill and cook up some tasty goodies. This is a fundraiser for the preschool. Brownfield Lions Den Hosts Dance. A dance will be held at the Brownfield Lions Den on Route 5 and Route 113 in Brownfield, Maine from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. It is for adults 21 and older and it is bring your own beverage. Music will be by Linwood Cash and The Ridge Riders. Donations are $10 and there will be a bottle and a 50/50 raffle. Proceeds go into our Community Projects and Building Fund.
World Fair Trade Day And Kenyan Artisans Relief. In honor of World Fair Trade Day, The Met, in the North Conway Village is presenting music, raffles, information and fun. Learn more about Fair Trade and be a part of The Met's fair trade Kenyan Artisan Relief. Soapstone artisans in Kenya that make the beautiful art for Gifts of Life (Fair Trade shop) in the village, lost everything in the post election violence in Kenya. Homes burnt, business lost, and all possessions destroyed. The Met is trying to help 15 families get back on their feet after this civil war. Go Fly A Kite Workshop. Arts Council of Tamworth is present an ACT! For Kids program called Go Fly a Kite! from 1 to 4 p.m. This program is for kids of all ages, intended for both adults and children. The hands-on creative workshop will be led by international master kite flyer and educator Archie Stewart at the K.A. Brett School on Route 113. The cost is $5 per kite kit. 15th Annual Saco Valley 4-H Beef, Dairy And Sheep Club Auction. The 15th annual Saco Valley 4-H Beef, Dairy and Sheep Club auction is in the Forestry building at the Fryeburg Fair grounds. Items can be viewed from 5 to 7 p.m. The drawing begins at 7 p.m. There will be a food booth. A 50/50 raffle will benefit Priscilla Boivin who is battling cancer. Exploring the Forest Understory. Take a hike into the “old glacial waterfall” or “Dirty Gut” with Tin Mountain Conservation Center executive director Michael Cline, who will provide a fabulous excuse and opportunity to examine the understory of numerous northern forest communities and to learn to identify wildflowers, herbaceous plants, and shrubs found there. This moderate hike is from 12-4 p.m. and it involves some boulder scrambling so sturdy footwear is in order. Field trip participants will meet at the Tin Mountain Conservation Cente Nature Learning Center in Albany. Dress for the weather, bring water, and a strong curiosity. Free Tennis Instruction. Join the Mount Washington Valley Tennis School and Mount Washington Valley Community Tennis Association for an exciting tennis event at Davis Park in Conway from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tennis Across America and Welcome Back to Tennis are events specifically designed for new or former tennis players who are interested in getting started in tennis programs in their community. The morning instruction will include demonstrations on how to ease back into the game safely and comfortably. Instructors will teach the latest in stretching, warm-up and cool down techniques and provide a refresher course on basic tips. Rackets and balls will be provided. There will be music, refreshments, some free giveaways as well as the opportunity to sign up for continuing play. Friends of Families Coalition Meeting . The Friends of Families Coalition will meet 8:30-10 a.m. at Tri-County Community Action Program Resource Center, on Route 16, in Chocorua. The coalition is a networking group whose mission is to maximize awareness of and access to vital human services within Carroll County. The group is open to any human service professional in Carroll County who serves families: health care providers and support staff, school nurses, educators, youth and adolescent service providers, home visitors, social workers, counselors, town welfare officers, clergy and any concerned citizen who is invested in the health and wellness of Carroll County families. Mount Washington Valley Chamber Of Commerce Golf Tournament. This year’s Mount Washington Valley Chamber of Commerce golf tournament is being held at the Indian Mount Golf Club in Center Ossipee. A portion of the proceeds from the tournament going to benefit the Mount Washington Valley Youth Hockey Association. The event starts at 8 a.m. with a continental breakfast at the club house followed by a 9 a.m. shotgun start. A barbecue buffet, special recognition and awards banquet is scheduled for 4 p.m. Prizes will be awarded for hole-in-one, putting contest, and first second and third place teams. Lowest score, longest drive, closest to the line and closest to the pin prizes will be awarded for men and women. Jackson Gillman. The Village Players of Wolfeboro are presenting the well-known professional comedian, Jackson Gillman, “The Stand-Up Chameleon” at 7 p.m. This is the first in The Village Players “Sit Down For Stand Up” comedy series.
